Kathak dancer Pandit Birju Maharaj has choreographed Deepika Padukone's song her in upcoming film "Bajirao Mastani".

The period film, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, tells a love story of Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao (Ranveer Singh) and Mastani (Deepika).

"There is a kathak song in the film. It has been choreographed by Pandit Birju Maharaj. In fact, I was in Delhi for a week for one-on-one sessions with him," Deepika told reporters here at a promotional event of the movie.

"Bajirao Mastani" also stars Priyanka Chopra in the role of Bajirao's wife Kashibai.

Deepika said she was happy that "Pinga" was the first song that she shot for the movie as she had Priyanka for support.

"Songs in Sanjay Leela Bhansali are films in themselves. There are three songs where I am dancing. I was glad we started that way. You feel that focus is not only you and we are sharing the difficulty factor."

The movie is slated to release on December 18.
