Training facilities for policemen should be improved: UP DGP

The ongoing training facilities for policemen should be strengthened and improved, while training academies in the states should be made center of excellence, Uttar Pradesh DGP (training) Kamlendra Prasad said today.

He was expressing his views on the occasion of three-day 33rd all India symposium of police training institutes, academies and organisations, being held at Rajasthan Police Academy here.

Additional DGP, (training), Madhya Pradesh, Rajednra Kumar emphasised on integrating practical examination with basic training, besides a provision of interview for the policemen.

He suggested that the computer training and knowledge of cyber crime and ways to crack them should also be the part of the basic training.
 

Vice chancellor of Sardar Patel Police University, Jodhpur, M L Kumawat, Director General of Bureau of Police Research and Development Rajan Gupta and others also spoke on the occasion.

On the last day of the symposium tomorrow, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh would address the police officers and training heads.
