BJP leader and former MLA Sunil Sharma today led a delegation of residents of Trans Hindan Area and submitted a memorandum to Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) vice chairman Santosh Yadav over scarcity of potable drinking water.

Sharma said residents of all major colonies in the Trans Hindan Area including Arthala, Mohan Nagar, Karheda, Sanjay Colony, Lajpat Nagar, Rajedndra Nagar, Shyam Park Main and Extension, Raj Bag, Vrindavan Garden and Jawahar Enclave have been facing drinking water crises.

Supply of Ganga water should be ensured by the GDA, which is the only remedy, he said. Sharma said waste water pipeline laid by GDA starting from Mohan Nagar up to Transport Nagar has been clogged, due to which the residents of the nearby colonies are facing problems of water-logging.

Sharma demanded enhancement the capacity of Sewage Pumping Station at Janak Puri. It is notable that in all the residential colonies the Nagar Nigam Ghaziabad is charging water tax from the residents without supplying enough quantity of potable drinking water.

As a result of which the illegal trade of water suppliers is flourishing, he claimed.

According to Mayor Telu Ram Kamboj, "every household which has got a water connection sanctioned on his premises is bound to pay water tax, irrespective of the fact whether he is getting corporation water supply or not".
