Travel agency employee rescued from blue whale game

: A 22-year-old employee of a travel agency who was hooked into the dangerous Blue whale game, was rescued by police at Neravy in Karaikal district.

Sub-Inspector Jerome Jesmond, who rescued the man, said he had been playing the game for the past 15 days.

The SI said the the man's younger brother sought police help after he noticed behavioural changes like going out of home at odd hours in the night and remaining confined to a room in the house for most part of the day.

"The man had stopped speaking with others at home for the past few days," said the SI.
 

He said the police found that he had taken some bizarre photographs on his mobile phone and had downloaded a few scary movies.

The SI said the man had got into the game through a WhatsApp group, which was now being scruintised and added that he had been counselled

"We are collecting information about the members of the group to see if anyone else is playing or propagating the game," Jesmond said.
