A 35-year-old travel agent was today arrested for allegedly cheating people to the tune of Rs one crore on the pretext of booking their train and air tickets, police said.
The accused, arrested by the Crime Branch, was identified as Gaurav Saxena, a resident of Lajpat Nagar area.
According to police, Saxena was wanted in several other cheating cases. Police got information that he was coming towards Lajpat Nagar on July 21 and acting on tip-off, a trap was laid and he was arrested.

In the year 2012, Saxena had started a Travel Agency in the name of M/s Amrita Tour Pvt Ltd in South Extention. He used to advertise at low rates tour packages to attract people and air tickets for India as well as abroad.
"He would book tour packages and air line tickets.However, Saxena did not provide such tours or air line tickets to the customers. When the customers would ask for return of their money, he would given them post dated cheques," said a senior police officer.
Officer also said Saxena had also engaged an armed security guard to protect him when he had met any of the customers, he had duped.
Officer added that Gaurav Saxena is facing prosecution more than 8 cases of Negotiable Instrument Act i.E ( Bouncing of cheques) in Delhi and Punjab. Sexena is wanted in 3 cases of cheating police stations Malviya Nagar, Farsh Bazar and Jyoti Nagar of the national Capital.
