NCP president Sharad Pawar today asked the party's student wing to consider the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections as "a workshop" to lay the foundation of future leadership.

Addressing office-bearers of Maharashtra unit of the student wing, Pawar said the Lok Sabha election results belied the party's expectations, "but there is a difference between the state and general elections and the situation which prevailed two months ago has changed."

Pawar said office-bearers of student wing should communicate with the people about the prevailing political situation.

"Treat this election as your workshop and prepare the foundation for your leadership in the next election," he said.

Pawar launched the 'Rashtravadi Campus Corner', an initiative of the student wing, under which it will reach out to 1,000 colleges from August 4 to 24.
