Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave today said conservation of trees and wildlife and their co-existence is inherent in the country's civilisation.

Addressing the 2015 batch of probationers of Indian Forest Service, he said, "The quality of training faculty imparting training at various institutes should be the best."

"The minister strongly emphasised on the coexistence between forests, tribals and species of flora and fauna," an official release said.

"Conservation of trees and species of birds and animals and their co-existence is inherent in our civilisation," it said quoting the minister.

Dave asked the trainee officers to strive to become good forest officers and immerse themselves in work.

Indian Forest Service provides an opportunity to the officers to live in the midst of nature, Director General, Forest and Special Secretary, S S Negi said, adding, "young officers should strive to work for poor people of forest-dependent communities."

The 2015 batch of probationers comprise 61 officers, including four women and two foreign trainees from Bhutan.
