Tremors felt in Delhi, adjoining areas

Tremors were felt in the national capital and adjoining satellite townships this afternoon for the third time in a fortnight.

The quake, measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale at around 12:30 PM, was epicentred on the border between Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, the MeT Department said.

The tremors were felt for about 20-25 seconds in the capital, Gurgaon and Noida. There were no immediate reports of any casualty or injury.

On April 24, a quake measuring 5.7 on the Richter Scale and epicentred in southern Afghanistan had shook the National Capital Region while on April 16, tremor of 7.8 magnitude with Pakistan-Iran border as its epicentre also had its effect in the region.
