A tribal body in Jammu and Kashmir today demanded constitution of a 'scrutiny community' for re- verification of Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificates issued after 1991 in the state to remove irregularities in them.
"Non-tribals produce ST certificates to get jobs and admissions in educational institutions, which needs to be addressed as early as possible," Secretary of Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation (TRCF) Javaid Rahi said.
The state government must re-verify all the ST certificates of employees recruited by the Jammu and Kashmir government since 1991 through its tribal department, he said.
