A junior clerk in Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) was arrested in Pandharkawda village in the district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 85,000 for extending an official favour, ACB said today.
The accused, Rajendra Rangari, had allegedly sought the bribe for releasing educational aid for fees of the tribal students of a college in Pandharkawda, said an official.
The management of the college approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau which in turn laid a trap and arrested Rangari from Indira Gandhi Chowk in Pandharkawda yesterday, he said.
Rangari has been booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and was handed over to the local police.
