Tribal murdered over land dispute

A 58-year-man was murdered and two of his kin were seriously injured when they were allegedly attacked by their relatives in Chikle village in the district, police said today.

The dispute over land between the two families is suspected to be the reason behind the murderous attack on the victim, identified as Ladku Chander Vartha, at his house in Sawarkund are on the forest land last night, they said.

About seven persons, including a woman, who are related to the victim attacked him with iron rods and swords, said Inspector Sanjay Hazare of Wada police station.

Vartha's wife Ladkabai (52) and their married daughter Bharati Wangad (28) were also attacked when they tried to save Vartha. Both of them sustained serious injuries and admitted to Thane civil hospital, he said.
 

Police have filed a case under various sections of IPC against Halya Bhudhar, Vishnu Vatrha and Shami Bhujar and four others who are yet to be identified.

No arrest has been made in this regard so far, police said.
