A 55-year-old tribal
woman was today shot dead by unidentified persons who suspected her of performing black magic on the villagers at Sijukala in Mayurbhanj district.
Manaka Tudu was fired at by three motorcycle-borne youths in a field killing her on the spot, a police official said.
"The preliminary investigation reveal that the incident is sequel to witchcraft practice in the area. The police has launched search operation to arrest the killers, he said.
