A tribal woman was allegedly raped in the presence of her husband in a field at Sindkhed Moreshwar village in the district two days ago, police said.
The incident took place in a field around midnight on Sunday, said Barshi Takli police.
The accused Shankar Munde and another man, who held off the husband at knife-point, also robbed the couple of their mobile phones.
The couple, who are from Amravati district, reached the police station yesterday morning and filed a complaint.
The victim and her husband were working as night watchmen at a field owned by Jagdish Jarapurkar for the past one year.
Dr Asha Mirge, member of state women commission, met the police after learning about the incident. Further probe is on. Police are looking for Munde and his accomplice.
