Tributes were today paid to Punjab's late chief minister Beant Singh on his 21st death anniversary.

The day commemorated as 'Balidan Divas' saw many people pay floral tributes at his Shaheedi Samarak. An all-religion prayer meeting was also organised on the occasion.

Singh's family members pledged to work towards implementing programmes initiated by the late leader and strive to keep aloft his high moral values in public life.

Besides, secretary AICC and Punjab affairs in-charge Harish Chaudhary, leader of Congress Legislator Party Charanjit Singh Channi and several senior Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee functionaries were present on the occasion.

Singh was killed in a bomb blast at the secretariat complex in Chandigarh on August 31, 1995. The blast claimed lives of 17 others, including 3 commandos.
