: Rich tributes were paid by members of the armed forces to soldiers who laid down their lives in the 1999 Kargil conflict at a ceremony held at Victory War Memorial here today.
General Officer Commanding of Dakshin Bharat Area, Lt General R K Anand laid a wreath as a mark of respect to the martyrs on the occasion of "Kargil Day."
INS Adyar's Commanding Officer, Captain Suresh, Coast Guard East Region Commander, Inspector General, Rajan Bargotra and senior serving and retired officers, junior commissioned officers and jawans participated in the function, a defence release said.
