Puducherry Assembly Speaker V.Sabapathy today paid floral tributes to the statue of nationalist poet Subramania Bharati on the occasion of his 134th birth anniversary.
Ministers and legislators were among those who paid floral tributes.
Bharathi had a political sojourn in Puducherry when it was under French regime for 11 years from 1908 and came into contact with various stalwarts of freedom movement, including spiritual leader Aurobindo.
