Press Trust of India New Delhi
Trident Ltd today reported 26.1 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 78.45 crore for the quarter ended June 2016.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 62.19 crore for the year-ago period.

Total income from operations increased to Rs 1,166.31 crore as against Rs 885.97 crore in the year-ago period.

"We have demonstrated solid financial and operational performance during the quarter and reported around 30 per cent top line and earnings growth. This was mainly owing to strong volume off-take registered in the home textiles segment," Trident Group Chairman Rajinder Gupta said.

"A host of strategic initiatives and efforts undertaken in the past like strengthening our marketing team, expanding our global reach and widening our product offerings have started yielding desired results, and I am confident that this momentum would continue throughout the year."

The company "remains focused on marketing efforts and is well on track to optimally utilise global scale capacities over the next two years".

This is expected to lead to strong financial performance and help generate significant free cash flows, which will create tremendous value for all the stakeholders, Gupta added.

Trident Ltd (Trident) is a flagship company of USD 1 billion Trident Group and a leading manufacturer and exporter of home textiles and paper products.
