The ruling National Conference (NC) today said the trifurcation demand of Jammu and Kashmir is anti-national.

"Trifurcation demand is anti-national. Jammu and Kashmir's future lies in single entity," NC provincial president Devender Singh Rana said while addressing a workers' meet at Jaganoo in Udhampur district.

Lashing out at those demanding a separate statehood for Jammu, Rana said it speaks of their myopic political understanding and divisive mindset.

"Such tendencies need to be curbed and nipped in the bud," he said, adding that "People have rejected these forces."

"NC will fight for the larger public interest and those who refuse to remain sincere to their conscience, can't be well-wishers of people," he said.

Rana questioned the political legitimacy of PDP, which he alleged was hobnobbing with BJP in Jammu for electoral gains by whipping up divisive and communal passions.
