Trinamool Congress in Tripura has complained to the Election Commission, alleging manipulation by Left Front cadres during polling in the state's two Lok Sabha seats.

"We have submitted complaints supported by video footage before Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath about the manipulation in the polling," Trinamool Congress chairman Ratan Chakraborty said at a press conference here.

He said, "The high turnout - an average of 85 per cent - was the result of large-scale manipulation in the voting compartments during polling on April 7 and April 12."

"FIR against a presiding officer of a polling booth in Bishalgarh sub-division of West Tripura Lok Sabha seat is a proof that large-scale rigging occurred in several booths," he said.
