Trinamool chalks out programme to mark one-year of Mamata govt

Trinamool all-India general secretary Mukul Roy said here today that May 13, the day when last Assembly elections were held and May 20, when the Mamata Banerjee government took office ending 34 years of Left Front rule in the state, were historic.

Roy said that on May 12, a procession would be taken out from from Shyambazar in the north to Dharmatolla in central Kolkata to express gratitude to the 'Ma, Mati, Manush government'.

On May 19, the Trinamool Congress Yuva, the party's youth wing, would organise another procession from Jadavpore to Hazra crossing in south Kolkata.

From May 20 to June 10, Roy said, rallies and street corner meetings would be held in villages and towns to project the success of the new state government before the people.

 

Roy also announced party candidates for the June 12 by-elections to Daspur and Bankura assembly constituencies.

He said that Mamata Bhuinya would be party's candidate from Daspur and Minati Mishra from Bankura assembly constituencies. PTI PB PC
