"Ten of our party workers were injured and local party leader Arabul Islam was attacked with arms by the CPI(M) workers and had to be hospitalised, while several cars were damaged," Industry minister Partha Chatterjee alleged.
Questioning how arms could be used, he said "We are demanding that the police act according to the law."
He alleged that the Congress was playing second fiddle to the CPI(M) and that some news television channels were overplaying certain issues to create trouble in the state.
Chatterjee said that in protest against the violence, the Trinamool Congress would take out processions between January 10 and 18 at 6:00 pm.
"In protest against the attempts to create anarchy by these two parties and against two or three media channels behaving in a provocative manner we will be on the streets."
The industry minister alleged that CPI(M) leader Abdur Rezzak Mollah, who was injured on Sunday was giving provocative statements from his hospital bed.
"People know about the allegations in the past against him (Mollah). Anyone who thinks showing courtesy is a sign of weakness will be mistaken," Chatterjee who had visited Mollah in hospital yesterday, said.
