Trinamool Congress organised rallies and meetings across West Bengal for the eighth consecutive day today against party MP Sudip Bandopadhyay's arrest by the CBI and demonetisation.
Several top-ranking party leaders and supporters held a sit-in demonstration outside the RBI office here protesting against the "anti-people" decision of demonetisation. They also shouted slogans against the BJP government.
A sit-in was also organised outside the CBI office in the CGO Complex at Salt Lake with the participants raising slogans against "vendetta politics" of BJP.
Elsewhere in the state, TMC supporters held either sit-ins or rallies where they shouted slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah and also burnt their effigies.
