The Trinamool Congress (TMC) will contest on all the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand as it is yet to decide on an ally in the state, a senior party leader said here today.

This was announced at a party meeting held at the Town Hall here where a team of ministers and MLAs including West Bengal agriculture minister Malay Ghatak was present.

Ghatak said that the party to take a final decision on the poll alliance, if needed, at the right time.

The agriculture minister alleged that Jharkhand has not developed as much as it should have mainly due to corruption and the failure of political parties.

He claimed that TMC would give an alternative political option to the people of Jharkhand.

West Bengal's minister for water resources investigation & development Somen Mahapatra, self-employment minister Santiram Mahato, MLAs S Mahato and Purna Chandra Bauri were also present at the meeting.

Incidentally, TMC had fielded candidates on some seats in 2009's Lok Sabha elections in the state, who, however, could not win.
