Manoj Kumar Rawat (21), Bijender Singh (25) and Pramod Gupta (22) were arrested yesterday for the robbery.
The complaint was filed by one Monica, they said.
The complainant said gold and silver jewellery, silver utensils, wrist watches of foreign brands, laptop, foreign currency and a camera had been stolen from the house.
During sustained interrogation, Bijender and Pramod had disclosed that Manoj had information that Monica is going to Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh and she was planning to invest around Rs 4 lakh for a religious work.
"Further, he was aware that brother of complainant is in USA and he was sending costly watches and other items to her from there. He shared the information with Bijender who involved his friend Pramod in this and planned to commit burglary at the house of complainant," a senior police official said.
The trio broke into the house when its occupants had left for some work.
While Manoj remained on the ground floor to keep watch for outsiders, Pramod and Bijender went upstairs and committed theft after breaking open the main door lock, the official said.
