Trio get 10 years' rigorous imprisonment for gangraping minor

Three persons have been sentenced to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment for the gangrape of a minor girl by a court in the neighbouring Washim district.

Additional Sessions Judge DK Bhende held the accused guilty under Section 376(g) of the Indian Penal Code and also imposed a fine of Rs 500 on each.

The incident took place in November 2007 in a hamlet in the Manora taluka of Washim district when the victim had gone to relieve herself.

She was forcibly taken to a secluded place and allegedly gangraped by Sukhdeo Acharkate, Haridas Manwar and Pinto Bakal.
