Tripartite meeting for opening closed tea gardens in

A tripartite meeting today took place at the office of District Magistrate of Alipurduar to discuss the issue of re-opening five closed tea gardens in the district.

A district official said the representatives of a Kolkata-based business group, running the said tea gardens, several union membersand the DM was present at the deliberations.

At the meeting it was decided the Birpara tea garden and four others of the district will be reopened by March 31, 2017, the official said.

The unions included INTTUC, UTUC, CITU and others.
