Tripartite talks: Govt & UNC agree to avoid provocative action

In the tripartite talks held today it was agreed to respect the previous agreements between the government and United Naga Council (UNC) and to avoid any provocative action till the dialogue process is taken to its logical end.

The tripartite talks were held today at Senapati district. It was chaired by joint Secretary (North-East) Ministry of Home affairs, Satyender Garg and attended by some Manipur ministers, senior state government officials and United Naga Council (UNC) leaders.

The talks appreciated the Manipur government for complying with May 19, 2017 agreement of conducting the talks at the political level while expressing resentment on some recent developments, official sources said.
 

It was agreed that the next round of talks would be held next month, it added.
