West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi today congratulated Ram Nath Kovind on being elected the next President of India.
In a message, Tripathi conveyed warm greetings to Kovind and best wishes.
The Governor expressed confidence that Kovind would uphold the Constitution of India in its true spirit and work for the welfare of the nation, the message said.
Kovind yesterday defeated Meira Kumar, a former Lok Sabha speaker, by winning more than 65 per cent of votes in the electoral college to become the 14th President of India.
