Four deaths were reported from remote Longtorai Valley and Gandacherra sub-division of the district in the past week where medical teams with paramedical staffs were dropped by helicopter yesterday to organise health camps, Director (Preventive Medicine) R K Dhar told reporters.
He stated that the affected people were tribals who used to drink contaminated water from streams and rivulets which led to the outbreak of the disease in the area.
Dhar said, teams of paramedical staffs and other health workers also would visit the remote villages to make them aware about hygienic life styles and would provide preventive medicines.
