A three-day special session of the Tripura Assembly began here today to ratify the Goods and Services Tax bill as part of the constitution amendment.

Tripura Finance minister Bhanulal Saha placed the bill in the House, which will be discussed by members in accordance with the recommendations of the business advisory committee.

The GST bill and the accompanying constitution amendment bill have already been passed unanimously by both Houses of Parliament, but it requires legislative ratification from 50 per cent of the state Assemblies.
