The second Integrated Development Complex (IDC) of Tripura will come up at Manughat Land Customs Station in Unakoti district, bordering Moulavi Bazar district of Bangladesh, to boost trade with the neighbouring country.

"The state government has got a sanction of Rs 12.62 crore from the Ministry of Commerce to set up the Integrated Development Complex. The commerce ministry would bear 90 per cent of the cost while the Tripura government will bear the rest. Works for the project have started," Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) GM Shyamal Deb said.

TIDC is the implementing agency of the project.

The IDC would be built on six acres with facilities like Customs, immigration, banking with currency exchange, warehouse and public utility services.

The IDC is seen as a vital business point between the state and Sylhet region of Bangladesh.

Union Commerce and Industries Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had inaugurated the first IDC at Srimantapur in Sipahijala district in January.

Of the total 31 Land Customs Stations in the North-East with Bangladesh, Tripura has eight.
