The Left Front government in Tripura is planning to include issues like domestic violence, crime against women and place of women in the society in school curriculum, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said today.
Expressing concern over the rise of crime against women and children, he said "students should be sensitized about the respectful position of women in the society and they must be made aware about the implications of crime against women and domestic violence".
Following suggestions from women activists and teachers, the government has planned a school curriculum where these issues would be incorporated, Sarkar said at a voluntary blood donation camp in a school.
Besides appealing to people to come forward for voluntary blood donation to help patients, the chief minister condemned the recent rape of a child in Delhi.
