Rao and party MP Vijayasanthi, who had vociferously raised the separate Telangana demand in Lok Sabha on earlier occasions, would go to Delhi tomorrow, sources said today.
Their separate statehood demand had resulted in disruption of the proceedings in the Lower House, where they found support in the main opposition BJP and even Congress MPs from the region for the cause.
Accusing Congress of not accepting the separate Telangana demand despite the offer to merge his party with it, the TRS president had recently announced that he would make efforts to step up the separate statehood agitation and also to make the TRS a formidable political force.
At a meeting of Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) yesterday, Chandrasekhar Rao reportedly indicated throwing weight behind NDA as the opposition coalition is supporting the separate statehood demand.
