TRS govt high on rhetoric, low on implementation: BJP

Charging the TRS government in Telangana with taking no concrete steps towards implementing its promises in the 100 days since it assumed office, BJP today alleged that the government is high on rhetoric and low on implementation.

"It may not be justified to assess the performance of a government in 100 days. But this period is definitely enough to prepare a plan of action and to send a positive signal to the people, who elected you with lot of hopes, on the implementation of election promises. But it is regrettable that you have not made any efforts in that direction and trying to run the government with words," Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy said in an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Though the state has a surplus budget, the government is only delaying the implementation of its poll promise of farmers' loan waiver, Reddy alleged.

"Kharif season is coming to an end. As they are not getting crop loans, farmers have to borrow money from private lenders. This puts them in a chain of borrowing. You say that you are committed to farm loan waiver," he said.

TRS had promised to provide quality power to farmers for eight hours, but they were lathicharged when they protested against problems in power supply, he said.

"Did you feel pain when 200 farmers laid down their lives due to mounting debts since you became Chief Minister? These suicides would have stopped had you given clear directions on loan waiver and started the process," the letter said.

The BJP leader hit out at the TRS government on several other issues as well.
