TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today postponed a joint meeting of the party's state committee, MPs and MLAs which was proposed to be organised tomorrow, in view of heavy rains lashing some places in the state.
He asked the public representatives of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to be available to the people and take part in relief measures, party sources said.
A fresh date for the proposed meeting would be finalised after the rains subsided, Rao said.
Normal life was today thrown out of gear at some places in Telangana as heavy rain occurred. Most places in the state received moderate rainfall.
The party meeting is proposed to be organised against the backdrop of the ruling party's plans to hold a massive public meet on September 2 to present its progress report to the people.
Rao had also said the candidates for next year's elections would be announced in September.
Legislative Assembly elections in Telangana would be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls next year.
