Concerned by the pink colour of the None-Of-The-Above (NOTA) buttons on Electronic Voting Machines, Telangana Rashtra Samithi, which uses a similar shade on its party flag, today urged Election Commission to address the matter, saying that the case of like colours "would confuse voters".

In a petition to Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath, TRS general secretary B Vinod Kumar raised apprehensions that voters, many of whom might be illiterate, could press the pink button under the impression that they were voting for TRS.

The party urged Election Commission to replace the colour of the NOTA button on EVMs with any shade except pink.

Supreme Court in a recent decision had ordered that the NOTA option must be provided on EVMs in forthcoming elections.
