"Some sections of media claim that TRS would merge with Congress (in return for accepting separate statehood demand). I would like to say emphatically that it will not merge with any other party. We will fight for separate Telangana and work for its reconstruction after the formation of the separate state," he said.
The TRS president was speaking at the party's 11th foundation day convention held at Vikarabad near Hyderabad.
Terming the suspension of Congress MPs from Parliament for disrupting the House over statehood issue as "insult to Telangana", Rao asked the legislators to quit the party and join the "separate statehood movement".
"Your party had almost given Telangana but took it back. You say you will get Telangana. If you are sincere, why should you continue there after this insult? Your insult has hurt us too. I appeal you to quit (Congress) and join the movement," Rao said.
Eight Congress MPs were suspended from Lok Sabha for disrupting the House over the Telangana statehood issue.
Earlier, two Congress MLAs, including a minister, from Telangana quit their posts and the party and became MLAs on TRS ticket.

In an indirect attack on BJP, which campaigned that separate state is possible only with the help of a national party, he wondered whether any national party existed at all now.
