A truck loaded with liquor bottles worth Rs 21 lakhs was stolen in Jammu and Kashmir, police said today adding that it was recovered within 24 hours.
A complaint was received by police station Chenani regarding the theft of the lorry carrying Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) bottles yesterday, a police officer said.
A case was registered and raids were conducted at different suspected locations. The stolen vehicle was finally recovered from Ramkote village of Kathua district today, he said.
However, the officer said that the thief managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of darkness.
Police teams have been dispatched to different locations to arrest the culprits, he said.
