Truck carrying sugar looted in UP

A Delhi-bound truck carrying sugar was allegedly looted by a group of six armed men on Delhi-Dehradun National highway in area under Ratenpuri police station here, the police said today.

The incident took place last night. The accused intercepted the truck which was going to Delhi from Deoband sugar mill and looted it after forcing three people inside the vehicle to get out of it, Circle Officer Rajiv Singh said.

The truck was carrying 600 bags of sugar.

Investigation into the case has been initiated, but no arrests have been made so far, Singh said.
