A truck driver was arrested and 20 animals were recovered here on Monday, police said.
A country-made pistol and bullets were also recovered, they said.
The incident took place in Naraini area, when police intercepted the truck en route to Bihar.
Truck driver Sonu Siddiqui parked the vehicle on the road and tried to flee, Naraini Kotwali SHO Durgvijay Singh said.
Siddiqui was arrested but his co-driver Taufeeq and truck owner Shamim managed to escape, he said, adding that a search operation was on to arrest the other two.
Singh said 20 head of cattle-- seven cows and 13 oxen-- were seized, adding that an ox died due to injuries sustained while getting down the vehicle.
