Truck driver decamps with Rs 14 lakh

A truck driver today allegedly decamped with Rs 14 lakh while on way to Nawada district after selling paddy in Kolkata along with a clerk of a trader, police said.

Superintendent of Police Vikas Burman said the incident occurred at Rajauli check post when the clerk of trader Hirangi Sao was returning to Nawada in the truck.

When the truck stopped at Rajauli check post and the clerk went inside for some paper work, the driver fled with the bag containing Rs 14 lakh leaving the truck, police said.

The clerk lodged an FIR with Rajauli police station in this regard, the police said adding that he was being questioned.
 

The police have seized the truck.
