Chennai will be hosting the inaugural edition of Table Tennis Super League-Tamil Nadu, which will feature the top paddlers of the state, from November 24 to 26.

The tournament, organised by Indusports, under the auspices of Tamil Nadu Table Tennis Association and 11Even Sports would be held at the Express Avenue mall here.

The league would have eight teams, and each would have six members from different categories men, women, junior boys, junior girls, cadet boys and veterans.

Each tie would comprise six singles and three doubles matches, the organisers said.

"We are hoping variations in age groups will help them bond as each team will have someone from under 12 years to over 40," said former national champion Kamlesh Mehta, director, 11Even Sports.

The teams were formed through a players auction, where 60 players were bought by teams.

E Prabhakaran emerged the highest paid player, going for Rs 52,500 and was followed by S Nikhil who was bought for Rs 50,500.

Among women, T Reeth Rishya commanded the highest price of Rs 40,500 and Yashini Sivasankar was the second highest (Rs 38,250).

Former National Games champion N Arul Selvi and TNTTA treasurer J Selvakumar thanked 11Even Sports and the table tennis federation for their support.
