Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams that administers the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara near here has suspended movement of vehicular traffic on the hill routes leading to the shrine from 10 pm today to 5 am tomorrow as a precautionary measure, fearing dislodgement of rocks from the hill sides due to incessant rains.

Temple officials told PTI tonight that there were about half a dozen minor landslips on the second ghat road leading to the hill shrine following uninterrupted rain that has been lashing Tirupati over the last 30 hours due to depression over Bay of Bengal.

The traffic would be resumed only on getting green signal after a trial run by the TTD task force team on the hill route at 5 am on Tuesday, they added.
