Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which administers the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala here, will soon launch a second 24-hour satellite channel 'Sri Venkateswara Bhakthi Channel' in Tamil.

The channel will be started for the benefit of over seven crore Tamil speaking devotees across the world, a top official of the channel said.

A V Narasimha Rao, SVBC Chief Executive Officer, said TTD has got the permission recently from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to launch the channel, following talks between Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and TTD Executive Officer D Sambasiva Rao in August.

SVBC has started making arrangements to test the signal of the Tamil Channel from November 2 and officially commence broadcasting, probably in January 2017, Rao told PTI.

In 2008, the then President Pratihba Patil had launched the SVBC Telugu Channel here, he said.

The 24x7 Tamil SVBC Channel would air live programmes, including daily rituals such as recitation of Suprabhatham, Kalyanotsvam, Sahastra Deepaalankara Seva and Vasantotsavam besides annual festivals like Brahmotsavam and Rathasaptami, he added PTI.
