The assurance came when Chief Minister Nabam Tuki called on Union Minister for Culture, Kumari Selja, and sought her assistance in this regard in New Delhi yesterday.

Selja accepted in principle to allocate funds for construction of cultural halls in every district headquarters of the state, the sources said.

When highlighted by Tuki that Arunachal Pradesh is a state with many tribes and each of them celebrating their own festivals round the year, the minister offered to provide grants to facilitate the celebrations.

Once the assurance is fulfilled, grants would be provided to the state government for celebration of festivals of each and every tribe of the state, the sources added.
