The 24-year-old singer, who has published her autobiography this year, said that elements of the book are based on real-life characters whom she knows, reported MTV online.

"It's definitely not Fifty Shades of Grey. It's exciting for me. It's something that I wanted to do with the same publishers as my autobiography.

"I do a lot of reading. I like crime novels and my number one author is Martina Cole," she said.

The 'X Factor' judge also wants a career as an actress.

"I want to do more acting. It's fun to be someone else. A great start would be doing a Brit flick," she said.

Contostavlos began her career in urban band N-Dubz alongside Fazer and cousin Dappy.
