Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of the special CBI court A Y Dave today rejected the demand made by accused police officers D G Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandian, Dinesh M N and Abdul Rehman.
"As Supreme Court has ordered to stay all the proceedings on the charge sheet of this case, giving copies of charge sheet is also a part of the proceedings related to it. Hence, this court is hereby rejecting the plea of the accused to get the copies of charge sheet," said Magistrate in his order.
One of the main accused in the case and former minister in Modi Government, Amit Shah, in his petition before the Supreme Court had claimed that as per CBI Sohrabuddin and Tulsi encounters were not only related to each other, but are of a same transaction and on that basis, probe had been assigned to CBI.
Shah had demanded that as Sohrab and Tulsi cases are interlinked, he was already arrested in Sohrab case and now out on bail, so now he should not be arrested in the same case again.
Acting on his petition, the Supreme Court has stayed the proceedings of the charge sheet filed in Tulsi case till further orders.
Earlier, after the filing of charge sheet by CBI on October 29, 2012, court had issued summons to those accused, who were already in jail, to remain present in the court today. (More)
