Turmeric, coriander fall on subdued demand

Turmeric and coriander prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today due to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amidst adequate stocks.

Turmeric and coriander prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 8,500-12,800 and Rs 11,000-16,000 per quintal, respectively.

Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks mainly pulled down turmeric and coriander prices.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs):

Ajwain (per kg) 150-185, black pepper (per kg) 570-750, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,680-1,700 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,800-1,925.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 810-870, cardamom (colour robin) 780-810, cardamom bold 790-810, cardamom extra (bold) 960-1,010 and cloves 700-820.
