Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.

Besides, fall in supplies from producing belts and firm trend in futures market supported prices to rise.

Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 10,000-14,200 per quintal.

Jeera common and best quality also traded Rs 100 each higher at Rs 13,300-13,600 and Rs 16,600-16,900 per quintal, respectively.

Marketmen said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up turmeric and jeera prices.
