Turmeric prices went up by Rs 66 to close at Rs 7,632 per quintal in futures trading today amid rising spot as well as export demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in April month, which surged to Rs 7,700 per quintal intra-day, finally ended higher by Rs 66, or 0.87 per cent to close at Rs 7,632 per quintal with an open interest of 12,250 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in May closed up Rs 64,or 0.84 per cent at Rs 7,726 per quintal after rising to 7,810 during the session in an open interest of 13,920 lots.
Market analysts said pick up in spot demand and increased export enquiries influenced turmeric prices at futures trade here.
